Bebe at the start of the clip noted that the VMAs are on Tuesday and she was extremely nervous.
She shared that she felt 'very grateful and blessed' to be invited to the awards ceremony after being nominated for Best Collaboration for I'm Good (Blue) with David Guetta, 55.
'I know that the criticism comes with the territory so I am all good with that. I mean, sometimes it does get to me. I am human,' Bebe said while addressing the camera in a black top with her long blonde hair down.
Feeling anxiety: Bebe Rexha took to social media on Monday to admit feeling anxiety about attending the MTV Video Music Awards on Tuesday in New Jersey
'But I wanted just to talk about this because I meet a lot of and a lot of times they'll be like, 'Oh my god, i love how you're all about positivity and confident.' Let me tell you, right now, I'm not feeling so confident,' she added.
'I am so anxious and stressed about going on the red carpet and, I guess, people talking about my weight. 'Cause I'm not really loving myself right now. I'm not really feeling like the bad b**** that I usually am,' she continued.
Bebe said she wanted to make the video because she realized that everybody has 'these days' and 'nobody ever feels perfect.'
'I don't know if I'm going to go tomorrow. I do have an outfit. It is cute. And I do want to wear my dress, and I do really want to go to celebrate my nomination and my friends' nominations, but I do feel like anxiety gets the best of me,' Bebe said.
The singer asked her fans for 'any motivational tips and tricks' and said she might be on the red carpet on Tuesday at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Bebe confirmed in July that she had split with cinematographer Keyan Safyarion after three years together as she broke down in tears while performing at London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire.
'I just went through a break-up so I might get a little emotional and you need to help me,' she told the audience.
Bebe didn't let the break-up get the better of her as she put on an incredible show for fans before heading out to a nightclub in London.
Stressed out: 'I am so anxious and stressed about going on the red carpet and, I guess, people talking about my weight. 'Cause I'm not really loving myself right now. I'm not really feeling like the bad b**** that I usually am,' she continued
Then and now: Bebe, shown in February 2023 and in 2014, admitted to feeling anxious and stressed about appearing on the red carpet at the VMAs due to her weight gain
Cute outfit: 'I don’t know if I’m going to go tomorrow. I do have an outfit. It is cute. And I do want to wear my dress, and I do really want to go to celebrate my nomination and my friends’ nominations, but I do feel like anxiety gets the best of me,' Bebe said
She previously shared a vile 'fat-shaming' text allegedly sent by her ex on her Instagram Stories and it was subsequently posted by Pop Crave.
In the text addressed to the artist, a person purported to be Safyari said to her, 'You gained 35 pounds obviously you gained weight and your face changes? Should I just pretend it didn't happen and that it's ok?'
In the text to the Brooklyn native, whose full name is Bleta Rexha, the person believed to be Keyan said, 'Hey. I never said you weren't beautiful and I never said I didn't love you. In fact I said how beautiful you are and how much I loved you.
'But I always said I would be honest with you and your face was changing so I told you it was.'
In the long message, Keyan allegedly said, 'Come on I gain 3 pounds and you called me chubbs and fat. Doesn't mean you don't love me. If you're trying to find reasons to break up this makes sense… but it's not the real reason.
'If you're unhappy with me/yourself/with life and don't see a future with us then that's ok and that's the reason.'
The person believed to be Keyan told Rexha - who has past been candid about body positivity issues - in the text that she shouldn't use the issue of appearance 'to weaponize' her anger, anxiety or insecurities.
'You know I always found you to be beautiful and loved you no matter what,' Keyan purportedly told her.
On stage: The New York City native is shown performing earlier this month in Sao Paulo, Brazil
Keyan purportedly advised Bebe to 'think about things and write things down, speak to a therapist and do this retreat thing to get to the root of the problem.'
He wrapped up the email in saying, 'Let me know if you'd like to speak if you need more clarity. Love you.'
Bebe had been linked to Keyan since 2020.
The singer in June pleaded with the public to stop discussing her 30-pound weight gain, which she revealed was caused by polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
She told her followers on Twitter that she was tired of hearing criticism about her appearance.
'I know I got fat. I'm just so sick of people talking about it. NEXT!!!!!!' she wrote.
In another tweet she added: 'Human beings go through weight fluctuations it's life and you don't know what people are going through. Meds, disease, etc…'
The pop star in June suffered a black eye after being hit in the face with a cellphone while performing in New York.
